Listening to the heart
“Today, so often, we lose the ability to listen. Our ears are flooded with digital input, but we forget to listen to our own hearts and it’s in our hearts that God speaks to us, calls us and invites us to know him better and live in his love.”
“In Scripture, the heart is not only the centre of feelings and emotions, but the locus of freedom, where the deepest searching takes place, the most authentic desires are discovered, and where one’s ultimate identity is found.”
“You are my life, Lord’: this is what a priest or sister say in complete freedom, full of joy. ‘I take you to be my husband’: this is the phrase that transforms the love of a man and a woman into a sign of God’s love in marriage. These are radical choices: Matrimony and Holy Orders, and that is where we find true happiness, when we learn to give ourselves, to give our lives for others.”
“My dear friends, united to Jesus, like branches to the vine, you will bear much fruit. You will be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You will be seeds of hope where you live, in your families, among your friends. You will be seeds of hope with Christ.”
